Exciting Opportunity for Educators in Cobb

Through a partnership with Cobb County Schools, Keep Cobb Beautiful (KCB) hosts an environmental Earth Fair that provides opportunities for these schools to participate in the many environmental education programs that KCB offers.

On Tuesday , October 7, 2008  from 4:30 - 7:00p.m., at the Cobb Civic Center , Keep Cobb Beautiful will host the fourth annual Earth Fair.

The Earth Fair will consist of exhibits hosted by many local nonprofit organizations and businesses that provide environmental education programs for the classroom. This event will enable representatives from your school to speak directly with these organizations and gather information on programs that are of interest to your school. The Georgia Forestry Commission, Parks and Recreation, Adopt A Stream, Pollution Prevention Assistance Division, and The Clean Air Campaign are a few of the groups that will take part.

You will also be able to find out about and register for the Green School project, a classroom initiative for environmental programs that aligns with state and national curriculum standards.

All principals, PTA presidents, PTA Environmental Chairs, and school representatives from each Cobb County School will be invited to attend.

Register to attend at kcb.cobbcountyga.gov/tab2005.htm. You must preregister as a representative from your school to attend.

Deadline for registration is Tuesday, September 30, 2008.
