What items are accepted for recycling?
The transfer station accepts office paper, junk mail, newspapers, magazines, phone books, green glass, brown glass, clear glass, aluminum cans, tin cans, as well as car and truck batteries.
Plastic bottles, either type I, (HDPE) or type II, (PET) are also collected in the metal container at the front of the transfer station building.
What do we do with our recyclables?
Residents can bring their recyclables to the transfer station, but should turn to the right as they go into the entrance, rather than going to the scale house. The recycling collection area is in front of the facility's main building.
The exception is that those bringing oil or antifreeze for recycling should stop first at the scale house.
Those with further questions about the transfer station should call (770) 528-2500.
Can you tell me where the Advanced Disposal Transfer Station is? What are its hours?
The transfer station is located at 1897 County Services Parkway next to the old jail. The station is operated by the Cobb County Solid Waste Department, andis open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The phone number is 770-485-8940.
A minimum $7 fee allows residents to dispose of up to 400 pounds of materials at the station. Residents are encouraged to contact Advanced Disposal at 770-485-8940 for disposal pricing over the minimum.
Residents wanting to dispose of tires should call Advanced for pricing.
The transfer station does not take yard debris such as grass clippings, limbs, bushes, or leaves. In addition, they cannot accept hazardous wastes such as paint, household chemicals, or any pressurized fuel containers such as propane or acetylene tanks of any size.
Where do I take Yard Debris?
